Enviroparfait was founded in Montreal in 1997 and is a 100% Quebec-owned
and operated indoor air quality consulting business. We have become successful
because we listen to your needs and provide independent professional analysis
of all types of indoor environmental (including air) quality problems.
Because we focus on solving your indoor environmental problems, we are
constantly researching the safest and most effective techniques. This
is why, for example, we not only scientifically evaluate the risk and
extent of microbial contamination in a building, but we can now supply
a unique tool to control this microbial contamination. We are presently
the exclusive source in Quebec of this tool, the Aegis Microbe Shield™
Program.

that meet these criteria. Above all, to provide outstanding service to
the client- always be available when the client needs help and be flexible
enough to provide these solutions to suit the client's schedule, no matter

team of dedicated professionals.
SERVICES OFFERED:
- Analyze air quality problems in office and apartment buildings, shopping
centres, factories, schools, hospitals, universities, portable or temporary
buildings, hotels, daycare centres, nursing homes, private residences,
cleanrooms, and most other types of indoor structures, plus inside vehicles
such as trains, aircraft, ships, automobiles, buses.
- Provide air and surface-contact testing and analysis, where necessary.
- Analyze specific air pollutants such as : asbestos, formaldehyde,
respirable particles, volatile organic compounds, carbon monoxide, chlorine,
oil mists, ozone, lead, etc.
- Propose solutions to indoor air quality problems and recommend the
most appropriate for each individual client.
- Implement solutions to the air quality problems ourselves or in coordination
with other professionals.
- Utilize the Aegis Microbe Shield™ Program to solve certain air
quality problems resulting from microbial contamination.
- Apply the Aegis Microbe Shield™ Program to surfaces that frequently
get wet, as a proven way of reducing maintenance costs. These surfaces
include, for example, shower tiles, cooling towers, HVAC system components,
walk-in coolers, underground passageways.
- Ensure proper follow up and evaluation of air quality after corrective
measures have been implemented.

WHO DOES THE WORK?
Roderick Thorpe, president of Enviroparfait (Enviroperfect Inc.) of Montreal,
Quebec, is a senior indoor environmental quality investigator with 29
years of experience in indoor investigations, project management, building
services and chemical analysis. He has:
- An MSc degree in chemistry from University of Waterloo.
- A MBA degree from University of Ottawa.
- Obtained the Indoor Air Quality Professional designation from the American
Indoor Air Quality Council.
- Has successfully completed a graduate level course in Indoor Air Quality
from the Building Studies Department of the Concordia University Engineering
Faculty.
- Has completed a residential indoor air quality inspection course from
Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
- Has successfully completed a training course in Microbial Remediation
Supervision from Maritime Testing, NS.
- Has successfully completed a training course in Legionella Prevention
from HC Information Resources, California.
He is a member of:
- The American Indoor Air Quality Council, the largest indoor air quality
association in the world.
- Numerous trade associations, including ASHRAE, AEE (the Association
of Energy Engineers), BEQ (the Building Envelope Council).
He participates in:
- Annual environmental quality courses.
- Delivering several seminars on mould and indoor air quality problems
to various professional organizations in Montreal annually.
His skills include:
- Expertise in all types of indoor environmental quality issues, including
microbial contamination;
- Testing for all types of indoor pollutants including mould;
- Designing and implementing microbial remediation protocols;
- Project management;
- Negotiating and mediating between parties on opposite sides regarding
environmental quality issues;
- Expert witness in court, including Régie du Logement cases;
- Teaching training courses in mould remediation and air quality inspections;
- Developing better hygiene protocols in medical facilities and other
public buildings.
He has managed indoor air quality investigations and mould remediation
projects in hundreds of buildings in Montreal and the surrounding region
